Google backing -- a boost for 'smart object' communication venture

It's called the IP for Smart Objects (IPSO) Alliance and it seeks to enable a host of devices -- from appliances to cars -- to communicate over an IP network. The Alliance is likely to reach that goal quicker now that Search behemoth, Google, has joined its ranks.
