This summer, Google generously agreed to sponsor 10 student Nmap developers as part of their Summer of Code program. One of the most exciting projects is Ncat by Chris Gibson. This is a reinvention of Ncat with cool features such as IPv6, better portability and documentation, connection encryption and authentication, inetd-like capability to spawn multiple concurrent applications, connection redirection, and more.
